The National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) is a standardized exam that is used to determine whether an individual has the knowledge and skills required to practice safely as a nurse in the United States. It is required for nursing licensure in all 50 states, as well as in the District of Columbia and four US territories.

The Regulatory Exam for Practical Nurses (REx-PN) is a standardized exam used to assess the knowledge and skills of individuals who are seeking to become licensed practical nurses (LPNs) in Canada. The exam is administered by the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination (CPNRE) Board, which is responsible for setting the standards and policies for practical nursing practice in Canada.

The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) is the regulatory body for the nursing profession in Ontario, Canada. It is responsible for registering and regulating the practice of RNs, RPNs, and NPs, as well as setting standards for nursing education and practice. CNO ensures that RNs and RPNs meet the required standards of knowledge, skill, and judgment to provide safe, competent, and ethical care. It also investigate and discipline any members who violate its standards or engage in unethical or unprofessional conduct.
