The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) is the regulatory body for the nursing profession in Ontario, Canada. It is responsible for registering and regulating the practice of RNs, RPNs, and NPs, as well as setting standards for nursing education and practice. CNO ensures that RNs and RPNs meet the required standards of knowledge, skill, and judgment to provide safe, competent, and ethical care. It also investigate and discipline any members who violate its standards or engage in unethical or unprofessional conduct.

Individuals who wish to practice as a RN, RPN or NP in Ontario, Canada must first be registered with the CNO. This involves submitting an application and meeting certain requirements, such as completing a recognized nursing education program and passing a competency exam.
